Welcome Message

On behalf of Alrisaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre I am delighted to welcome you to our website.
We want to use these pages to provide you with regular updated information but also to give you an insight of the role and activities of the Centre.
Alrisaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre started from a small beginning as Somali Cultural Watch in 2008. It rented a property in Islington to carry its mission of preserving the culture and Islamic identity of Somalis in the United Kingdom.
After two successful years of carrying its mission, the charity trustees have decided to widen its target community whereby serving all Muslims. To reflect the new mission of the charity, the trustees changed the charity name to Alrisaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre.
The building the charity was using was not enough for the daily activities of the charity such as daily prayers, Quranic classes and youth activities. The trustees decided to buy a property belonging to the community.
By the grace of Allah, the charity bought the present base of the charity at 91-93 Parkhurst Road, London, N7 0LP. This is a freehold property and it is now debt free.
Alrisaalah Mosque and Islington Islamic Centre has many objectives and roles. It is involved in the religious, cultural and social life of Muslims and non-Muslims who are interested in gaining knowledge of the true meaning and understanding of Islam as a Religion of Peace, Tolerance and Coexistence, and hence the framework of all aspects of our work stems from this standpoint. Alhamdu Lilah, the Centre has welcomed over many New Muslims in the last few years.
The main challenge we face now is that our Masjid is an old building and the current space we have now is not enough for our congregation and users. This is why we have embarked on a project to expand and renovate the Masjid.
With Allahs Will we will overcome with your generous help and
Du’aas.
Dr Yazid Murshid Mohamed
